5532 Project, "bringing new life to old steam in North-East Wales"
5532 was bought as a Barry wreck in 1987 as an ideally sized locomotive for regular use on the Llangollen Railway, with enough power to haul any load required of it at 25mph, whilst carrying the minimum amount of coal and water required to complete a round trip trip from Llangollen to Corwen. The restoration of 5532 has been progressing well for over 30 years, and with most of the components required to complete the restoration aquired including many new parts, the time has now come where fundraising for the boiler is now the main priority.
